John Greig is the epitome of the one-club man. Not only did he spend his entire playing career at Rangers, but he then went on to manage the Glasgow club and even served as one of its directors.
Little wonder that he was voted 'The Greatest Ever Ranger' by the fans in a 1999 poll.
In a massive 755 club appearances, Greig was everywhere – starting as a forward, moving back into midfield and then finally settling into the full back position that he would make his own.
He was also one of the club's greatest ever captains, guiding Rangers to their 1972 European Cup Winners' Cup triumph, during a time when their bitter rivals Celtic were dominant domestically.
His managerial stint at Ibrox was less successful - plenty of silverware but no league titles – but he was responsible for bringing another legend to the club, a certain striker called Ally McCoist.
