Born and brought up in England, Andy Goram became one of Scotland's greatest ever keepers.
To be fair to Goram, he always considered himself as Scottish as his parents and he went on to represent his country at both football (43 caps) and cricket (4 caps). To this day, he is the only Scotsman to have played both international football and first class cricket.
He played for a large number of Scottish and English teams in a 620-game career. But it was his time at Rangers for which he will always be remembered.
He moved to Ibrox in a million-pound deal in the early 1990s at a time when Rangers dominated Scottish football, helping them to numerous domestic honours and a brilliant run to the semi-finals of the Champions League in 1993. As a result, he was voted the club's greatest ever keeper in a 2001 fan poll.
His private life was rather less successful, involving lurid tales of womanising, drinking and gambling. He was also diagnosed with a mild form of schizophrenia, which led to a memorable terrace chant that there were only two Andy Gorams.
But to Rangers' fans, he will always be known simply as 'The Goalie'.
